Also: I had a whole 750 ml bottle on Perrier because I was parched from the aquagym class and OMGTHENEWTEACHERISCRAZYANDILOVEHER.

Sorry. I'm excited.

We also had candy apple treats at the bistro today, but I didn't have one because
a) they are more of a decorative object than a food item
b) I like having teeth

Still: pretty.

Food log: Monday September 21

Another day, another food log...

Nature's Path instant oatmeal and apple from home, sencha tea from the bistro
Oatmeal, apple from home, green tea from the bistro
I just bought this brand for the first time. It's MUCH better than the instant crap that religious guy with the black hat and white hair sells, and worth the extra money. The texture is creamier and it has flax seeds and blueberries in it. Yum.

The pasta is from a batch of frozen lunches I made a few months ago. I am running out of freezer lunches and need to make more.
I refuse to buy pre-packaged frozen meals, they are so salty! Any suggestions for good dishes that freeze well?

Indian food is the gift that keeps on giving. I put the rest in the freezer.

Leftover pancake with maple syrup
Pancakes for dessert, yessss!
Aaaaaaand I am now all out of syrup. I hate to pay for maple syrup. My grand-father used to have a sugar shack and I could get all the maple products that I wanted. Maybe I should plant a few trees in the garden.

Food log: Sunday, September 20

So how are your allergies on this fine september day? Mine are killing me and there is no more meds in my house. I still went for a walk outside, as I had plans to fill the freezer with vegetables and fruits today. So I went to Maisonneuve market and came back with about 50 pounds of produce, plus some olive oil, bread, hoisin sauce, organic apple sauce and organic instant oatmeal. Total: $72.59.
back from the market with $48.48 less in my pocket

I also got a delivery from IGA, as I was low on Perrier and meat, stuff I buy in bulk. I took advantage of this order to fill the freezer with a few goodies (ice ream sandwich, anyone?). I think I will be ok for a while there. No more food shopping. I am ready for the upcoming zombie apocalypse. The IGA order came to $177 with tip.

So, I worked all afternoon on the "Fill the freezer" project. I washed, cut, blanched, peeled and Ziplocked until I was left with a ton of green beans, yellow beans, tomatoes, broccoli, bell peppers, corn, strawberries and peaches ready to be eaten when the colder months come by. Yippee!

Of course, my cat could not resist playing her favorite "let's bug Eve" game: begging for a bean, playing with it for about an hour and hiding it in my bed covers.

Food log: Saturday, September 19

Today was a great day as it was my first ever visit to Montreal's Comic-Con, a low key event full of comics (duh), Superman nerds, toys, sci-fi geeks, graphicl novel authors, guys in trooper costumes and jail-bait girls in gothloli wear. It was awesome. And I also got to shake hands with Lou Ferrigno, The Hulk himself! He had a grip of steel. Good thing I had a solid breakfast!

I'm pretty sure the chefs got the recipes for the wings from Lucifer himself. SO FREAKING HOT. Laurent had sweat rolling off his face. My eyes were watering. Valerie was spitting everywhere, the spice from the wings causing overdrooling. We were a mess.

I know, I know: usualy, there should be no ice in a cosmo. I didn't say anything, but it was hard, since I pretty much write about cocktails on a daily basis. Even so, it was tasty! I'm not complaining!

It's apple-picking time. Yay!

I'm so excited to go apple picking. I don't know when, I don't know how, but I WILL go. I want to bring back a big brown bag of apple and bake till I drop. There's nothing like a good apple crisp to give Fall a bit of warmth. But of course, the best part of apple-picking is eating an apple directly off the tree and leaving the core hanging from the branch, just like my dad thought me when I was a kid. Heh!
