PB toasts and milk at home

Tea from the bistro - free

Drank it all before thinking of taking a pic. Sorry.
Banana from the bistro - free

I usualy like my banana more on the green side of life. This one was a bordeline reject. I other news, have I told you about my band, The Bordeline Rejects?
Lamb curry, rice, grilled veggies, cucumber salad, banana cake, lemonade from the bistro - $6

This was one of those meals that had everyone going "yum yum yum nom nom nom yum yum" around the communal table.
And these are our amazing chefs, Marie-Andrée and François!

Fantastic meal, guys. Really: wow.
In the afternoon, this is the one email you are always happy to get:

There was nuts, dried fruits, a snack mix, M&M and jelly beans. I picked the latter

Best in show goes to the caramel popcorn one.
Diet Coke from the vending machine - $1.25

Back from the pool, I was in the mood for a kid's meal.
Oven-baked corn dogs, Smiles potatoes and fennel salad

Smiles are a guilty pleasure of mine, probably because you can do this with them to make them look like bleeding maniacs.

Money spent on food today: $7.25

I hope you all had a delicious day!
Same breakfast as yesterday, at home

Yay for routine!
Jasmine tea from the bistro - free

Leftover pasta and grapes for lunch

Fred's dessert from the bistro - free

Fred rarely eats his dessert. Fred gave it to me. Fred is very happy that he made the blog today. Yay Fred!
"Ants on a log" snack from the bistro - free

A good, healthy snack. I once had a very nice twist on this dish at Chicago's Moto . Instead of celery, they used a carved piece of Japanese pear. It was filled with foie gras and covered with rum-soaked raisins.

Heavenly.
Sausage bun and coconut bun from Harmony in Chinatown - $4

I took the long way back home and crossed Chinatown, so I could not resist stopping at the Asian bakery for some delicious buns. I also had a bit of leftover fennel salad, but forgot to take a picture.
Money spent on food today: $5.25

Diet Coke from the vending machine - $1.25
What do you want from me? There was no more Earl Grey in the tea drawer. I HAD to get some caffeine in me.

Here we go.
Cream cheese toasts with grapefruit juice at home

Tea from the bistro - free

Candy from the Special Needs kid

A client sent a big basket of goodies and Lindsay pilfered these delicious items.
BLT, fennel salad, Diet Coke, grapes and apple sauce from home

Diet Coke from the vending machine - $1.25

Oatmeal muffin from the bistro - free

Pre-pool piece of cheese from home

Home made veggie and beef pasta with Gruyère and lemon sauce

Also: I had a whole 750 ml bottle on Perrier because I was parched from the aquagym class and OMGTHENEWTEACHERISCRAZYANDILOVEHER.
Sorry. I'm excited.
We also had candy apple treats at the bistro today, but I didn't have one because
a) they are more of a decorative object than a food item
b) I like having teeth
Still: pretty.

Another day, another food log...
Nature's Path instant oatmeal and apple from home, sencha tea from the bistro

I just bought this brand for the first time. It's MUCH better than the instant crap that religious guy with the black hat and white hair sells, and worth the extra money. The texture is creamier and it has flax seeds and blueberries in it. Yum.
Primavera pasta, leftover chicken, carrots, grapes, veggie juice and Diet Coke from home

The pasta is from a batch of frozen lunches I made a few months ago. I am running out of freezer lunches and need to make more.
I refuse to buy pre-packaged frozen meals, they are so salty! Any suggestions for good dishes that freeze well?
Pistachios from the bistro - free

Pilfered from the happy hour last Friday.
Muffin from the bistro - free

Another cool thing at Sid lee: free muffin surprise!
Leftover Indian food and a salad

Indian food is the gift that keeps on giving. I put the rest in the freezer.
Leftover pancake with maple syrup

Aaaaaaand I am now all out of syrup. I hate to pay for maple syrup. My grand-father used to have a sugar shack and I could get all the maple products that I wanted. Maybe I should plant a few trees in the garden.
