Pesto is delicious on pasta, baked potatoes and roasted veggies. But ready-made pesto is expensive and can be so salty, you could use it to de-ice your driveway. Since pesto freezes well, take advantage of August’s bounty of fresh herbs to whip up a batch and stick your thumb to The Man. Just portion it in small freezer bags or ice cube trays for later use.
