I'm not dead. I just forgot my camera cable in Québec City and can't upload any pictures. But fear not, my Mom mailed it to me and I should blog about all the good Holiday stuff soon.
Meanwhile, please enjoy this video of Godzilla making pancakes.

Food log: Wednesday, December 23
Ham and cheese croissant, juice
After breakfast, we set out to start cooking the stew a.k.a. ragoût de pattes de cochon. It's a whole day thing that turns my mom's kitchen into some kind of Tudor-style cookery, where weird beasts are laid to rest.
The pork had to rest in a salt water bath for 3 hours. By the way, is there a more horrible redesign than what was done to the Windsor salt box? It used to be an icon of Canadian design. What a shame.
Booooo!
Tourtière, tomatoes, beer, clementine
Buttered bread, veggie juice
A quick snack in the PM
Then it was time to make the meatballs.
Stepdad popped open a few oysters while we had a beer. Yum.
With dinner, we had a Saint-Émilion, Château Tertre Daugay grand cru classé, brought back from France by stepdad
Dinner was delicious chicken liver sautéed with balsamic vinegar, served with potatoes and asparagus
Oka stuffed with mushrooms and Champfleury cheeses
Richard treated us to a few other parisian delights: Fauchon chocolates and Sauternes with hazelnuts
After dinner, we still had to continue onward with the neverending stew.
San Pellegrino

Food log: Monday, December 21
Scrambled eggs, toast, tomato juice
I spent the afternoon at the spa and came back home to have a chat with my friend Julie over a glass of wine.
Canapés, sauvignon blanc
Garlic and capers tilapia, mashed sweet potatoes with Parmesan, broccoli, mushrooms, Côte du Rhônes
I also dropped by the SAQ to buy a few bottles of wine ($27.20). Then later tonight, I got an SAQ card as a gift from the team on the building's board, to thank me for last year! Thanks guys. :)

Food log: Friday, December 18
Cereal
Tea and a banana form the bistro - free
With all of the previous night's festivities, we were very happy to get a hearthy lunch. STEAK!
Veggies and rice soupe, steak, fries, peas, blueberry mousse, lemonade from the bistro - $6
For some reason, James got a steak 3 times as big as the others.
We named it "The Thickness".
I think it would make a great wrestler name.
ALL HAIL THE THICKNESS! TIME TO COOK... YOUR ASS!
I had some random chinese food for dinner, in a sad food court. I was killing time waiting for a massage appointment at Spa Diva.
I think it cost around 10 bucks. I didn't remember much after that massage.
