Since I wasn't really at home this week to receive an online order, I went to the grocery store today. I PACKED my cart with drinks. And Oreos. And chips. And ready-made egg sandwiches. This is why I don't go to the grocery store anymore. I just go crazy.
Grocery-capade - $172.09

For dinner, I made braised beef. I put a bit of salt and pepper on the meat with some Arnold Schwarzeneger Worcestershire sauce, put the roast over carrots and chopped leeks in a Creuset and covered it with a few branches of thyme. Cover and cook for 3 hours at 250 degrees F or until the meat is fork-tender.

To serve with that, I made this awesome gnocchi alla Romana dish that was in my weekly Saveur newsletter. It's basically a baked polenta with cheese and butter. It's crispy on top, creamy inside, delicous all over. I'm never eating potatoes again.
