The soup was good but very peppery and gave me the hiccups (why is that?) The omelet... well let's just say I am not a fan of puffy omelets. And the fruit salad was frozen solid. Soo...

For dinner, I made sautéed tofu in miso-ginger sauce. I always improvise the sauce but basically, it's a mix of white miso, pepper sauce, maple syrup, mirin, rice vinegar and fresh ginger. You dredge the tofu in rice flour (it prevents it from becoming dry and hard) and sautée it in a tiny bit of oil, then add the sauce and a little bit of water.

Don't let it stand in the pan - just heat it through. Otherwise, it'll bake and stick to the pan.

My favorite was the mochi balls, soft and tender and just slightly sweet They are an aquirred taste but I can't get enough.

After work, I stopped at the SAQ and bakery ($32.40) before heading home for my birthday party, a Jeopardy-themed wine and cheese to-do with some of my friends. We ate cheese, charcuterie, crudités, chips, dnrak bubbly, wine, Kiri and vodka and ate an awesome clue-colored cake made by Jessica.
