Cheese toast and tomato juice

Smoked oysters with kewpie on mini pita breads

Big grocery delivery from IGA: $174 including tip for the boys

I got two free toothbrushes with this order. Sweet.
Shreddies

Patrick and Nathalie came around at five for a little apéro. We had roasted nuts, chips, spicy Korean tuna on cucumber slices, more smoked oysters on crackers with merlot salt, gimlets for Pat and I and a bloody mary for Nath.

After they left, I made oatmeal and raisins muffins and had one with Nutella on top.

That topping is by far the best idea I've had all day.

I took my friend Yvan out for his birthday. Happy birthday Yvan! We had brunch at La Cantine, on Mont-Royal. It's always tasty and the seventies decor is nice. Also, you don't have to wait in line like other overhyped breakfast places that shall remain nameless.

Food log: Wednesday, January 6
Cheese toast, tomato juice

I ate yesterday's leftovers for lunch. People tried to exchange pieces of their own lunches for a few of my sweet potato fries. They were denied. DENIED, I SAY! I also had a V8 and clementines from the bistro.

Diet Coke - $1.25

Baguette with garlic, Parmesan and lemon broad bean purée, tuna and a salad

For the purée, I put a can of broad beans (reserving about 1/4 cup of the beans), the juice of half a lemon, zest of the full lemon, garlic, a few spoonfuls of grated Parmesan, salt, pepper and about 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a bowl and puréed it with my immersion blender. I added the reserved beans and spread the lot on warm pieces of baguettes, topped it with tuna and drizzled good olive oil on top. YUMZ!
Guess what I'm having for lunch tomorrow?
